The 75th Annual District 7 Conference was held in Sioux City, Iowa May 6-9. Interspersed with the business sessions were activities that included a mixer and tour on Friday night held at the newly opened Sioux City Public Museum. Saturday's lunch was held at the beautiful Woodbury County Courthouse with a tour led by County Supervisor Mark Monson. Saturday evening's speaker was Bruce Miller, Sioux City Journal Entertainment Editor, who then served as a lively auctioneer for the annual district auction. The ten Quotarians from Waterloo who attended the weekend long conference agreed it was a fun and informative time.

The Amana Colonies were the primary destination for the 2011 Quota Girls Gone Wild Weekend held the last weekend of October. Nine Waterloo Quotarians participated this year - many for the first time. The host hotel was the Comfort Inn in Coralville. With gorgeous fall weather, many participants enjoyed the shopping opportunities at the nearby Kohl's, TJ Maxx and the Coral Ridge Mall. Other destinations included Riverside (the future birthplace of Capt. James T. Kirk of Star Trek fame), an Amish general store, Kalona (an Amish community), the Kalona cheese factory, the Fireside Winery near Marengo and the Williamsburg outlet mall. District Quotarians did their part to help boost the local economies over the weekend and had a fun time to boot!!
